Chloe Perkins was named Lincoln County Distinguished Young Woman of 2023 at the group’s annual event on Saturday.

Daughter of Miranda and Jon Perkins, she is a senior at Lincoln County High School.

The Distinguished Young Women of Lincoln County are part of a national scholarship program that recognizes and rewards leadership, academic achievement and talent. The program includes 13 high school students who compete in the maintenance, scholastics, talent, self-expression and fitness categories.

As the winner, Perkins received a scholarship of $4,800 along with several other scholarships totaling an additional $1,850.

Perkins plans to attend the University of Kentucky next year, where she plans to major in pharmacy.

In the competition, interviews and scholastics both make up 25% of the total score, talent 20%, and self-expression and fitness 15% each.
