Mahindra & Mahindra aims to double your range in an electric vehicle In the years to come. The plan calls for the launch of eight electric vehicles (EVs) by 2027, including four derivatives of existing petrol and diesel products and four new SUVs based on a “Born-Electric” platform. The automaker has already confirmed that the three new Mahindra SUVs will debut in their concept avatar in July 2022. These models were designed by Britain’s MADE (Mahindra Advance Design Europe) division led by Pratap Bose.
Now, the local automaker has released a new teaser video of its upcoming Born electric SUV. The concept has a two-tone red and black theme that looks quite sporty. It has a futuristic design with a unique design direction and dual screen setup as we saw on the Mahindra XUV700. The latter has two HD screens on the dashboard with one in the center for the infotainment system and one on the right with the instrument console and displays the driving functions. We can also notice a rotary knob placed in the central console and a fancy lever.

The upcoming Mahindra electric SUVs will have a different design with features like aerodynamic body panels, C-shaped LED DRLs (daytime running lights) and a coupé-like roofline. Electric vehicles will likely come with advanced benefits including connected car technology and ADAS (advanced driver assistance system). The ADAS suite offers features such as Automatic Emergency Braking, Traffic Sign Recognition, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning and Adaptive Cruise Control.
If reports are to be believed, Mahindra’s next line of electric SUVs could include the eXUV300, eXUV700 and XUV900 coupes. The company already has started testing the Mahindra eXUV300 which should arrive next year. Its production-ready version is rumored to be called Mahindra XUV400. The electric subcompact SUV will likely come with 350V and 380V battery options.
