Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah released from hospital after being admitted for check-up and minor surgery, Aaj News reported Monday.
The doctors asked the minister to rest for a week and not to engage in political activities during this period.
“I’m perfectly fine,” Sanaullah clarifies after an image of him on hospital bed surfaces
On Saturday, Sanaullah said he was perfectly fine after a viral image showing him lying in a hospital bed sparked rumors about his condition.
In an audio message, he said: “I’m perfectly fine, I came to the hospital for a little checkup and surgery. I’ll be with you in half a day.
On Friday, Information and Broadcasting Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said Sanaullah was in good health, denying rumors about his physical condition.
“Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has visited the Armed Forces Heart Institute (AFIC) in Rawalpindi for a routine checkup. There is no truth to the speculation regarding her health,” said Marriyum in a series of tweets.
She said Sanaullah underwent heart surgery about 18 years ago in 2004, which had to be checked every two or three years. “This year he has been examined by doctors two to three times,” she added.
Marriyum said a minor but necessary intervention was recommended by ACIC doctors and Sanaullah is expected to return home from hospital on Saturday.
Meanwhile, it was reported that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif contacted Sanaullah and wished him good health.
