From Innovation Awards categories, such as Workplace Extension, to Built and Unbuilt categories that recognize a range of projects and products, the MAD Awards will honor those who are at the forefront of design in all its forms. There will also be special recognition awards for top talent, including Designer of the Future, as well as a Student of the Year award, as well as a student category to celebrate budding designers.
“As we connected with designers, makers and builders, we quickly realized the amount of significant initial work being done in this space and felt it needed a platform where it could be shared and celebrated,” said Andrew Lane, who co-founded digby, a digital consultancy, technology innovation and retail company, with Tessa Bain. “From there, it was natural for us to partner with SANDOW Design Group and Interior designwho have a long history of promoting the industry, to create this new offering to showcase the exciting creative work being developed outside of the physical world,” adds Bain.
The MAD Awards ceremony will take place live in the Spatial.io metaverse, a collaborative community platform in the virtual realm, in March 2023. “We are delighted that our first awards ceremony celebrates the next generation of designers, something fundamental to Spatial’s heritage,” shares Anand Agarawala, CEO and co-founder. Entries will be judged by a panel of reputable media, designers, web3 experts and industry professionals, and finalists will be notified in February 2023.
The MAD Awards mark Interior designThe fourth awards program honors design excellence, in addition to the Best of Year Awards, NYCxDESIGN Awards and HiP Awards at NeoCon. Early bird registration opens October 24, and the final registration deadline will be December 21, 2022.
