CHARLOTTE, NC – House of Nomad, a design company and housewares brand with stores in Charlotte, NC, and Charleston, SC, has developed a line of upholstered furniture to add to its product line. Composed of nine products offered in four patterns, the collection expands its ranges of wallpapers and textiles with pieces ranging from chairs and benches to pillows, sofas and poufs.

House of Nomad founders Kelley Lentini and Berkeley Minkhorst saw a need in the market for more playful upholstered shapes and patterns. They set out to design and produce the line, and as of April 2022, are selling the new products both through the House of Nomad website and at their two retail stores.

According to the company, when designing this new line of upholstery fabrics, the founders were inspired by the people and places they visited around the world, including Thailand, Mexico, Central and South America. , Europe, Bali and Africa. Upholstered pieces are designed to be designed as unique statements in a room or to blend into a home with more eclectic and matching interiors.

Since the line’s introduction last month, the collection has been well received, particularly the Nomad pouf, Anywhere bench, Gitano sofa and Layover headboard, according to the company.

For future projects, House of Nomad is exploring modular pieces and branching out with storage items. The company is developing a woven version of its current Jet Lag pattern, which will be heavier padding. It will be available in black and white as well as tone on tone.

The company is also finalizing an assortment of sofas and chairs with the woven upholstery that will be launched this fall and sold DTC on its website and to designer customers.
