The designer called a bedroom with plain painted walls “much less interesting” than ones with color.
“What makes rooms like this so appealing?” ” she says.
She explained that the colorful walls of a bedroom are the focal point that catches the eye when they walk into the room.
The focal point of the bedroom she showed was a thick green stripe on the white wall behind the bed.

The green strip was about as thick as the headboard and went from floor to ceiling.
A thick blue band connected the green wall to the ceiling above the bed.
According to Sousa, a focal point on the wall allows your eyes to visually take in the room.
“The focal point is the statement in the room,” she said.
“It could be anything from lighting, a feature wall, furniture, or even finishes.”
It can be difficult trying to find a focal point in an open concept floor plan, but Sousa said to just try to “find a focal point for all spaces to create one.”
Many viewers adored her interior decorating tip, saying, “A great tip!” and “So helpful, thank you.”
Another said: “So true it’s the same with the way you dress too.”
“I was always a color guy but I was doing too much color,” one user said.

“Realizing later that it looks stylish with all white and a focal wall.”
“To like.”
