Launch of the BYD Atto 3 electric SUV: Warren Buffett-backed electric vehicle maker BYD (Build Your Dreams) is set to launch its second product in the Indian market today, October 11. The BYD Atto 3 EV, a five-seat electric SUV, will be a modern, smaller model. Electric SUV with over 450km range and is expected to give tough competition to rivals which includes Tata Nexon EV Max, MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Kona Electric. The Atto 3 will be positioned in the Rs 25 lakh-35 lakh EV SUV segment. BYD ATTO 3 EV: BATTERY AND RANGE
The Indian-spec BYD Atto 3 electric SUV will feature a 49.92 kWh BYD Blade battery that can deliver a claimed range of 345 km on a single charge (based on the WLTP cycle). The company could also introduce the extended range version which includes a larger 60.49 kWh battery and is certified to deliver a range of 420 km per charge. BYD ATTO 3 EV: PRICE
The BYD Atto 3 electric SUV is expected to cost less than Rs 30 lakh, ex-showroom. The BYD Atto 3 electric SUV competes in the Rs 20 lakh segment with SUVs like Tata Nexon MAX, MG ZS EV among others. However, it may undermine several rivals for the entry-level variant.

BYD ATTO 3 EV: BATTERY
The Atto 3 will be offered with two battery packs 49.92 kWh and 60.48 kWh with a WLTP range of 345 km and 420 km respectively.
The battery peak is BYD’s blade battery, and can also be used for a vehicle to charge the power function. The electric motor powering the front wheels produces 201hp and 350Nm of torque. It was mated to a single-speed transmission.
